Privé at Island Estates promises private island luxury

By Leslie J. Kraft

For those who love the idea of living on an island but don’t want to be too remote, Privé at Island Estates is a tempting new option. The community will be anchored in the waters of the Aventura Intracoastal on what developers say is the last buildable 8-acre island in South Florida, Privé Island.

Privé at Island Estates will comprise two, 16-story luxury towers, each with 80 flow-through units ranging from 2,585 square feet to 9,000 square feet. Prices start at $2.15 million for the exclusive project, which is being developed by BH3 and Gary Cohen. Privé’s architect is Sieger Suarez and the project’s interior designer is Interiors by Steven G.

The average unit is 3,400 square feet. All residences will feature private elevator entries, flow-through floor plans with 10-foot glass from floor to ceiling, spacious 10-foot deep balconies, expansive east-west water views, European kitchens and bathrooms, outdoor summer kitchens and service suites.

Residents will reach the island via a private bridge and a road that brings them past an attended gatehouse and into 70,000 square feet of public space. This includes a private beach, marina – plus a private jetty for guest boat landing and fishing, a beach club, lap pool and whirlpool, a roving and permanent poolside café with in-home service and catering, lighted tennis court, nature trail, jogging trail, children’s playground and pet grooming area. There also will be a social room with billiards, a private dining room with catering kitchen, a library, a business center, outdoor dining spaces, a wine room and a cigar lounge.

Each tower will have its own two-story, 10,000-square-foot waterfront fitness center with a state-of-the-art spa, steam and men’s and women’s sauna rooms, a toddler playroom and separate service quarters. Other services include valet, concierge and 24-hour roving and stationary security.

Sales at the property have exceeded $300 million, developers say, including $50 million in penthouse units. The property is designed to appeal to large families seeking privacy or a second home, yachting aficionados, ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking resort-style living, and young, trendy fashion and shopping enthusiasts.

The 360-degree water views from anywhere on the property, along with the privacy created by the surrounding waters likely will be enough to attract any buyer who can pay the price tag. Privé at Island Estates (mypriveisland.com) is scheduled for completion by next summer.
