SUMMARY:See Their Faces Gala\, presented by Park West Foundation
DESCRIPTION:4KIDS to Host “See Their Faces” Gala Highlighting the Sacred Responsibility of Caring for Children and Families in Crisis. 4KIDS\, a faith-based nonprofit serving children and families in crisis\, will host its See Their Faces Gala on Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, at Boca West Country Club. The evening will bring together community leaders\, advocates\, and philanthropists for a black-tie optional event centered on awareness\, impact\, and collective responsibility.\nThe See Their Faces Gala\, presented by Park West Foundation\, is 4KIDS’ premier fundraising event\, designed to move beyond statistics and invite guests to truly see the lives behind the need—children and families navigating foster care\, prevention services\, and pathways toward stability and healing. Through thoughtfully curated storytelling\, the evening will spotlight how consistent care\, faith-centered support\, and community partnership can change the trajectory of a child’s life.\n“This evening is about more than gathering support\, it’s about recognition\,” said Andrew Holmes\, 4KIDS President. “When we see a child clearly\, when we acknowledge their story\, their dignity\, and their potential\, we accept a responsibility that follows. The See Their Faces Gala is an invitation to step into that responsibility together\, with compassion and purpose.”\nFunds raised during the gala will support 4KIDS’ comprehensive community care\, including prevention services that stabilize families before crisis\, foster homes for children in need\, trauma-informed therapy\, and innovative support for parents and caregivers. These programs collectively serve thousands of children and families each year throughout South Florida\, the Treasure Coast\, and Southwest Florida communities.\nThe 2026 gala will feature a formal dinner\, program presentation\, and opportunities for guests to engage meaningfully with the mission of 4KIDS. The evening will include a live and silent auction\, visual storytelling\, and a moving message from 4KIDS President Andrew Holmes\, culminating in a send-off social hour with live music and dancing. SUMMARY:Choral Evensong at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church
DESCRIPTION:Join Timothy Brumfield\, and the Choir of St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church for a very special Eastertide Choral Evensong this Sunday at 6:00 PM. This is a free music event and everyone is warmly welcome. Bring your friends and family. This is one of the most beautiful and stirring services in the Episcopal Church – you won’t want to miss it. This will also be the last Choral Evensong until Fall. \n𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗚\nEvensong is perhaps one of the most beautiful of all services that comes out of the Anglican church. The service is quite literally a living history of our church and its traditions. Being basically Evening Prayer\, apart from a few prayers and scripture readings\, the service is sung by a choir and cantor. The office of Evensong traces its history of origin all the way back to Thomas Cranmer\, Archbishop of Canterbury during the reigns of Henry VIII\, Edward VI\, and Mary I under whose hand he was burned at the stake in Oxford during her attempt to return England to Catholicism. Cranmer was trying to figure out a way to reduce the number of services within a day as there was a series of services known as The Hours which required one to attend many services throughout the day. He ended up combining two of the final services of the day which were Vespers\, sung at sunset\, and Compline\, so called because it completed the day\, into one service. We find that the two major canticles of Evensong\, the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis\, come from Vespers and Compline respectfully. The form of the service\, with its psalms\, scripture\, collects\, and prayers\, originates from these two services and hasn’t changed too terribly much since first appearing in the 1549 Prayer Book.\nMany countless musical settings of the canticles and psalms have been composed throughout the centuries\, making the service of Evensong rich in musical diversity\, beauty\, and heritage\, and we in the Anglican Church are very blessed to have these services upon which to draw inspiration and guidance through their graceful elegance and tradition.\nOur Eastertide Choral Evensong will be held this Sunday evening at 6 PM. Music will include Edward Bairstow’s haunting setting of Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silence\, canticle settings by David Hogan\, and Malcolm Boyle’s majestic Thou\, O God\, art Praised in Zion.\nChoral music performed of this caliber would normally be sung by concert choirs costing $50 or more in ticket price. At St. Gregory’s\, we are privileged and blessed to hear this glorious music sung in the setting for which it was intended\, the sacred and holy service of Choral Evensong\, as part of our usual schedule of liturgies.\nI hope you’ll take advantage of this incredible offering at St. Gregory’s and plan to attend on Sunday at 6 PM.\nTim Brumfield\, Director of Music Ministry\, Organist and Choirmaster\,\nCoordinator for Liturgy and the Arts
