DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Clay – Hand Building is a bi-weekly program where students learn basic elements of clay hand building methods. Although each session is designed to work independently\, it is recommended for students to take various workshops to perfect the medium and become comfortable with the materials. \nOne hand-built object will be made during class. Underglaze (color) will be added during class by the student\, work will be cleaned up and bisque fired after work has dried\, clear glaze will be applied by the instructor after first firing\, and a second firing to finish the piece will be run immediately after. DESCRIPTION:Sun\, sand\, and serving up support! Ann Storck Center – a Fort Lauderdale-based private nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities – is excited to host its 40th Annual All Heart Volleyball Challenge on Saturday\, June 13\, on Pompano Beach. \nBump\, set\, give back! The community event will feature a fun-filled day of volleyball\, music raffle\, prizes\, lunch\, dinner\, beverages and more to make a difference in the lives of adults and children with developmental disabilities. Co-ed 61s volleyball teams are invited to participate in the beach volleyball tournament in competitive or recreational divisions. \nTeams must consist of a minimum of six players and can be a maximum of eight players. Players under 18 years old must have a signed waiver.\nSponsorship opportunities are available and range from $400 to $10\,000. Individual tournament entry is available for $50\, and registration for a team of eight is $400. Registration includes a shirt\, meals\, drinks and prizes. \nProceeds benefit Ann Storck Center\, which accommodates 96 permanent residents and serves more than 300 clients daily through an array of critical care\, learning and ability-focused programs. \nThe 2026 confirmed sponsors to date are Rick Case Automotive Group\, Beach House\, Lucky Fish Beach Bar + Grill\, Oceanic\, Gulf Stream Brewery\, TDON and Jet’s Pizza.
