SUMMARY:Meet Your Hormones: Mean or Misunderstood?
DESCRIPTION:Are women’s hormones mean\, or just misunderstood? They have come to explain themselves to our Venice audience on Wednesday\, October 14\, when Nancy Gauvreau\, the show’s creator and leader\, presents “Meet Your Hormones: Mean or Misunderstood?”\, a live\, interactive women’s hormone workshop that is part entertainment\, part education\, part empowerment. \n“Yes\, my goal is to impart relevant\, practical information in a playful way\, but most of all I want every guest\, regardless of gender\, to leave better able to communicate about women’s hormones – women without sounding defensive\, and men without sounding patronizing.” – Nancy Gauvreau \nOne audience member added after she and her husband attended the show\, “My husband has tried many different ways of understanding my hormones\, and despite our conversations\, it had never landed. After Meet Your Hormones\, HE GETS IT! And we\’re still using what we learned from the workshop to talk about it successfully.” \nWhy it resonates:\nWomen’s hormones shape their mood\, energy\, sleep and relationships\, yet even most women never get a plain-language explanation. “Meet Your Hormones” skips the medical jargon and brings the subject to life through performance\, humor and audience interaction. Everyone 16 and older is welcome. \nIf you cannot make October 14\, the next “Meet Your Hormones” show is in Englewood on October 18th at Spirit Speaks on Dearborn St. To RSVP call (734) 564-6828 \nOther Available “Meet Your Hormones” Formats:\nMeet Your Hormones: Mom+Teens Edition – FAMILY-FRIENDLY (For girls ages 11-15)\nMeet HER Hormones: Men-Only Workshops \nTo book a Meet Your Hormones workshop as a private gathering in your home or as an event for your organization\, contact Nancy Gauvreau at (941) 234-3678\, email info@ketosouls.com or at www.ketosouls.com \nAbout Nancy Gauvreau\, Creator of “Meet Your Hormones: Mean or Misunderstood?”\nNancy Gauvreau spent 27 years as a trusted and beloved middle school teacher\, before bringing that same gift for teaching to women’s hormone health as a Fast Like a Girl™ certified fasting coach\, trained under Dr. Mindy Pelz. Through that training\, she came to understand the personalities of women’s hormones and how they interact with one another – information she wished she’d had while growing up as well as during her menopausal years. Drawing on her background as a drama teacher and improv actor\, Nancy turned that missing education into something fun\, interactive and unforgettable\, and Meet Your Hormones was born. She is the founder of KetoSouls\, an online community for women’s health and happiness. In addition to leading Meet Your Hormones workshops\, she accepts a handful of women for private coaching\, to help them learn when and what to eat to support their hormones and tap into their bodies’ natural healing potential. \nURL:\nWebsite: https://evvnt.com/events/?_ev_id=3849774 \nDate and Time: On Wednesday October 14\, 2026 at 19:00 – 20:30 \nVenue details: The Island Bookshop\, 206 Miami Avenue West\, Venice\, Florida\, 34285\, United States \nCategory: Lifestyle | Women \nPrice:\nGeneral Admission: USD 40.00

SUMMARY:PURRR Adoption + Sanctuary to Host a Viewing of “25 Cats of Qatar” Film
DESCRIPTION:Lights\, camera\, meow! PURRR Adoption + Sanctuary (PURRR) – a nonprofit organization with a mission to transform cats\’ lives one PURRR at a time\, through rescue\, adoption\, and spay + neuter initiatives – invites the community to a viewing of the film\, “25 Cats of Qatar\,” directed by Mye Hoang\, at Savor Cinema on Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available for $15. \nGuests will have the opportunity to meet and greet with the PURRR team to learn more about the nonprofit’s work and mission. “25 Cats of Qatar” Director Mye Hoang will be at the reception immediately after the movie to meet and greet with guests. \nFounded in 2018\, PURRR Adoption + Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to transform cats\’ lives one PURRR at a time\, through rescue\, adoption\, and spay + neuter initiatives that help reduce overpopulation and ultimately enrich the human-feline connection. PURRR is committed to giving cats and their companions a better future by offering a safe haven and encouraging responsible pet ownership. \nPURRR’s team and volunteers bring a wealth of experience and compassion to everything they do. From adoptions to spay + neuter services\, every aspect of PURRR is driven by a deep love for cats and a commitment to their well-being. \n“25 Cats of Qatar” Synopsis: Qatar is one of the world’s wealthiest nations\, and its rapid growth is powered by migrant workers who make 89% of the population. But underneath the luxurious surface lies an overwhelming street cat population where disease is rampant\, the heat is extreme\, and expats are burdened to help the struggling felines. \nWhen an American flight attendant and cat cafe owner becomes aware of the crisis\, she hatches a plan to fly 25 cats to Milwaukee\, where her cat cafe provides a pipeline for adoption. Presenting a microcosm of a global crisis\, the film asks searching questions about animal welfare\, all within a ticking-clock narrative about the nuts and bolts of a rescue mission. It is both an urgent wake-up call and a heartwarming story of overcoming international barriers for a common goal. \nThrough its “Find Your One” process\, PURRR’s team helps future cat moms and dads find their soul cat and guides them every step of the way. With over 150 adoptable cats\, the PURRR team knows every cat – their personality\, history\, quirks and what kind of home they need to become themselves fully. Whether future cat parents are seeking a playful and energetic kitten\, a calm and cuddly adult cat\, or a wise and gentle senior\, PURRR’s diverse selection of feline friends ensures there’s a perfect match for every home. Soul cat profiles built around personality are available on each feline friend in PURRR’s care. \nThe “Find Your One” experience starts with filling out an application to help PURRR’s team understand the adoptee’s preferences\, lifestyle\, and what they\’re looking for in a cat companion. Within 48 hours\, a PURRR team member will schedule a meet and greet for the chance to see firsthand the personalities and quirks of feline residents. After connecting with a potential furry family member\, PURRR schedules a 15-minute in-home\, educational consultation to ensure a smooth integration into the home. PURRR prioritizes the new feline family member\’s well-being and conducts a comprehensive final medical examination and bloodwork before taking the lifelong feline companion home. The PURRR team will check in after a week to ensure a smooth transition and address any questions. Beyond adoption day\, PURRR provides support\, resources\, and guidance throughout the journey as a pet owner. \nWhen:\nSunday\, Oct. 18\, at 2 p.m. \nWhere:\nSavor Cinema\n503 SE 6th Street\nFort Lauderdale\, FL 33301 \nCost:\n$15 \nLink: https://www.purrr.org/events/
