2024 Apogee Honoree: Louise Gallagher

Meet Louise Gallagher, Chief Financial Officer of USI Insurance Services, LLC

Louise Gallagher is originally from a small steel town in West Virginia. Gallagher attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a BA in Biology, with the intention of moving back to West Virginia to be a physician. Gallagher attended West Virginia University Medical School with Medical Honors before deciding that she should have stuck with the business classes as an undergraduate – medicine simply was not her passion. Gallagher moved to Chicago to work and save money before committing to a full-time MBA program. She moved to South Florida in 2002 to attend the University of Miami and pursue her MBA in Finance and Controllership. Not long after graduating, Gallagher was hired by USI, a privately held national insurance brokerage and consulting firm with over $2.7 billion in revenue and 10,000 employees. Gallagher has been with USI for 17 years, starting as a Vice President of Finance in FP&A for the Fort Lauderdale office. Within three years, Gallagher was promoted to a senior operations role in that office. The following year, she was promoted to Regional Chief Financial Officer for USI’s Southeast Region. In 2022, Gallagher was promoted to a new role as Chief Financial Officer of USI’s Programs, MGA, and Wholesale divisions.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.
