Chairman

Gary Press

As Chairman of Lifestyle Media Group (LMG), Gary Press provides vision, creativity, and direction to the largest and fastest-growing magazine publisher in South Florida. With 12 local publications, LMG enjoys a combined readership of 750,000, which includes business professionals, community leaders, entrepreneurs and young, trendy up-and-comers. Launched in September 2014, South Florida Business & Wealth magazine is the area’s premier business publication, attracting over 117,000 C-Suite readers into LMG’s portfolio as it maintains its foothold into the tri-county region. In 2017, Press launched Tampa Bay Business & Wealth magazine as a sister publication to SFBW.

 

Press is known as an effective, results-driven leader who has dedicated more than 25 years to the advertising, marketing and publishing industries. His background includes key roles at the largest publisher of metropolitan newsweeklies in the U.S., American City Business Journal, where he served as publisher of Baltimore Business Journal and South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ), and was instrumental in growing advertising revenue by more than 550% and profits tenfold.

 

Gary Press is also CEO of Alternative Revenue Solutions (ARS), which delivers significant incremental revenue to large customer-based companies by providing robust savings, financial education, identity theft, insurance products, financial products and protection programs to enhance consumers’ lives. As of October 2020, ARS had over 3,500 affiliates and more than 350,000 monthly residual customers. His innate talents enable him to transform environments into highly motivated, highly profitable entities and to proactively identify and resolve challenges. His leadership skills help grow sales, control costs, maximize productivity and create or rebuild revenue streams and deliver multimillion-dollar profits.

Editor-in-Chief

Drew Limsky

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

 

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

 

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

 

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.

Managing Director

Kim Sarni

As Managing Director of SFBW and South Florida Legal Guide (SFLG), Kim Sarni spearheads advertising and marketing initiatives for the magazine. A New York native, with a degree in business administration and 20 years in the advertising industry, Sarni brings to bear a fluent, comprehensive sense of the market and its ever-growing needs. Before joining SFBW in 2021, Sarni forged a career at the forefront of advertising in both digital and print, as director of sales for such companies as The Wall Street Journal and CFO Publishing. She then assumed the role of national sales manager for the Business Journals, based in New York City.

 

Sarni’s talents for utilizing events to grow business inform her work for SFBW and the SFLG, as she also oversees the sales side of an expansive portfolio of live and online events, from awards competitions such as Excellence in Health Care, Up & Comers and Apogee, to SFBW’s ever-popular CEO Connects and Round Table events. On a daily basis, and always with a sense of enthusiasm, Sarni oversees sales and marketing teams, setting and regularly exceeding benchmarks at Lifestyle Media Group.

Creative Director

Melanie Geronemus Smit

Melanie is an award-winning creative director at South Florida Business and Wealth and Lifestyle Media Group, where she designs and produces the monthly magazines. The native Floridian has spent more than 24 years in the creative field, the past seven with Lifestyle Media Group. Melanie takes projects from conception through completion and works with clients from businesses of all types and develops strategies for creating high-impact visual experiences. Prior to employment at Lifestyle Media Group, Melanie worked for Harris Drury and Cohen, J. Walter Thompson, and the South Florida Business Journal.

Art Director

Frank Papandrea

After graduating from Manhattan’s School of Visual Arts as a fashion illustration major, Frank hit the ground running, inaugurating his long career by illustrating two editions of GQ’s accessories section. When the fashion industry began moving away from illustration, Frank shifted his focus to pursue a career in the graphic arts.

 

As a creative director for the United States Postal Service for nearly 20 years, contributing and directing ideas and art in all mediums—print, electronic and advertising—Frank won many awards for his graphic design work. At the same time, influenced by Albrecht Dürer’s engravings, he was cultivating a career as a fine artist in pen and ink illustration. His work has been published in Ultimate Illustration (Harper Collins).

 

As the art director for SFBW, Frank develops and executes the visual concepts for each issue, and was instrumental in retooling the magazine a year ago to communicate a more national magazine-like look and feel.

Digital Editor

Sean d’Oliveira

Sean d’Oliveira is the digital editor for South Florida Business & Wealth magazine, where he manages the daily newsletter and online content. Sean comes from a family of journalists, with his father, mother and brother involved in the industry.

 

After earning a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Florida, his journalism career began by covering community news and high school sports as a staff writer for the Sun-Sentinel, a position he held for seven years. His first taste of online journalism came at CBSSports.com where he served as a digital editor and writer for two years. Since 2017, Sean’s digital work experience has deepened, with editorial roles at marketing agencies including Red Ventures.

 

Sean is a Fort Lauderdale native who still calls the city home. He is an avid Scuba diver and lover of the ocean. In his spare time, he enjoys playing softball, traveling, paddle boarding and any water-related activity.

Events Director

Olivia Bibbee

As Events Director for South Florida Business & Wealth and Lifestyle Media Group, Olivia Bibbee oversees all events hosted by the publications, including Signature Event Award ceremonies, CEO Connect networking events, cover parties and industry roundtables. SFBW hosts ten annual award ceremonies and a slew of CEO Connect events to gather South Florida’s C-Suite elite and provide opportunities for attendees to network, make connections and hear from prominent local executives.

 

Olivia successfully pivoted SFBW’s 2020 event schedule to a virtual platform shortly after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her agile response and the expertise of SFBW’s editorial team propelled the publication to the pinnacle of South Florida thought leadership, through the conception and execution of the Virtual CEO Connect webinars.

 

Olivia received her B.S. in English from the University of Florida in 2018. She gained experience at a variety of South Florida-based magazines before happily landing at Lifestyle Media Group. Since joining the LMG team in 2019, Olivia has added seven new Signature Events to SFBW’s lineup of award ceremonies and has utilized the magazine’s dynamic creative energy to develop unique and exciting events (both virtually and in-person).
