Attorneys Launch Eminent Domain Law Firm in West Palm Beach and Miami

Attorneys Mark A. Tobin and Robert A. Schreiber, with decades of experience, have launched Tobin & Schreiber, PLLC. The law firm is dedicated to representing property and business owners in government takings disputes, including eminent domain, inverse condemnation, land use impacts, access impairment, and securing redress for other governmental actions. Since the 1980s, The lawyers have represented clients against all types of condemning authorities at local, state and federal levels encompassing various property types and businesses.

“As Florida continues to experience record-breaking growth, property and business owners need more protection than ever against over-zealous governments and agencies seeking to take their property without suitable compensation,” Tobin says.

Tobin and Schreiber offer vast eminent domain experience. Tobin worked for decades with his mentor, Toby Prince Brigham, and became the managing partner at what was then the nation’s premier eminent domain law firm Brigham Moore. Schreiber served as chief eminent domain litigator of the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties before spending the next 20 years as a partner with leading eminent domain law firms. The two met at Brigham Moore, where they worked together on complex eminent domain and property rights cases.

“We never represent the government,” Schreiber says. “We welcome co-counsel arrangements where eminent domain experience is needed, sharing the government-paid fees.”

With personalized partner-level service, the firm draws on the attorneys’ experience representing a diverse client base, from multi-national corporations to small businesses and property owners. They have represented businesses such as gas stations and convenience stores, shopping centers, industrial properties, hotels, auto dealerships, commercial and office buildings, healthcare facilities, banks, restaurants, and undeveloped property, including agricultural land and residential parcels. Their defense against government takings has included roads, bridges, airports and seaports, infrastructure projects, schools and government buildings, illegal exactions, and land use disputes, among other takings.

With the launch of the law firm, the attorneys aim to obtain total compensation expeditiously, often through pre-suit negotiations. When representing their clients, the attorneys deploy decades of jury trial experience and long-standing relationships with the top, trial-ready eminent domain experts.

“We provide valuable counsel based on our extensive multi-generational real estate and legal experience and our commitment to tenaciously seek creative resolution of client cases,” Tobin says.
