Cocktail of the Week: Tap 42’s “Don’t Be a Prick” Margarita

Since launching the original Fort Lauderdale restaurant in 2011, Tap 42 always has been associated with its array of craft beers. But the craft concept isn’t limited to its collection of bottles and drafts. Tap 42, which now has eight locations in South Florida (with another one in Kendall on the way), also has its share of innovative specialty cocktails. Look no further than the “Don’t Be a Prick” margarita, a unique spin on the traditional margarita—with a kick.

Consisting of Prickly Pear, Cazadores Blanco, Orange Liqueur, Basil Syrup and Fresh Lime with a Basil Salt Half Rim, the concoction definitely pleases the pallet. If more sweetness is needed, an appetizer that complements the drink well is the crispy Asian calamari tower with Asian slaw, sweet and sour sauce, scallions and sesame ginger aioli.
