Legal Aid Service of Broward County to Honor Longtime Civil Servants

Two longtime lawyers who served the Broward County community will soon be honored for their service at the 19th Annual for the Public Good Gala fundraiser.

Anthony J. (Tony) Karrat, Esq., dedicated 46 years of his career working for Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS), a nonprofit law firm established in 1973. An endowment fund has been created to honor Karrat’s legacy as Executive Director.

Along with Karrat (pictured), the Honorable Thomas Lynch, an attorney who previously served as a judge for Broward County for over 30 years, will be honored with an “Excellence in Justice” award, which was created to celebrate his decades-long dedication to serving the community.

The two dedicated law professionals will be honored at the fundraiser, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Signature Grand, 6900 W. State Road 84 in Davie. The gala will feature over 400 lawyers, judges and members of the business community during an evening of networking and dinner. The event is hosted by Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA). The proceeds benefit the two nonprofit organizations that work to provide quality legal aid to low-income residents.
