South Florida Law Firm Continues Expansion After Merging With Rhode Island Law Firm

Day Pitney LLP recently completed its merger with Rhode Island-based law firm Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg LLP, a trusts and estates law firm. The move adds eight attorneys, including name partners Renée A. R. Evangelista and A. Max Kohlenberg under the Day Pitney LLP umbrella, making Day Pitney one of the largest trusts and estates practices on the East Coast.

“When the opportunity came about to bring Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg onto our team, we knew it would be a great fit in terms of the strategic values of our firm, practice areas, culture, and geography,” says Thomas D. Goldberg, Day Pitney’s Managing Partner. “Renée and Max created the preeminent trusts and estates firm in Rhode Island, and we are delighted to be able to call them and their entire team Day Pitney colleagues.”

While its headquarters is in Hartford, Connecticut, the trusts and estates law firm now has nearly 300 attorneys at 14 offices in the U.S., including in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, and Miami.

“Merging our firms will leverage and expand the experience, depth and breadth that both firms have in the private wealth category while providing all of our clients with increased access to individual attention and innovative solutions,” Evangelista says.
