Dr. Amit Rastogi is the president and chief executive officer of Jupiter Medical Center and the interim President of Jupiter Medical Center’s Foundation. Prior to joining Jupiter Medical Center, Dr. Rastogi held various executive roles at Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut and Inova Health in Virginia. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Rastogi has more than 15 years of clinical practice experience and holds a master’s degree in healthcare management from Harvard University.

What challenges have you faced in your career, and how did you overcome them? Initially, when I went from a clinical role to an administrative role, it required and adjustment. However, I found great satisfaction in impacting the health of communities.
What has been the most monumental moment of your career thus far? Leading the medical center through the pandemic.
How is the healthcare industry important to you personally? I’ve always been passionate about the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities because that is fundamental to happiness.
How did the pandemic disrupt your specific role in the healthcare industry, and how did you adapt? Having started my role a few months prior to the pandemic made it challenging to get to know people in the community. We used virtual meetings and other technology to engage community members during the pandemic.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten? Always put the patient first.
What do you love most about working in healthcare? The daily positive impact we can have on people’s lives.
