2023 Human Resources Honoree: M. Dean Beitler

M. Dean Beitler is the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Tropical Shipping. He joined the company in 2008 as U.S. Recruitment & Employment Manager, was promoted to Director, Human Resources in 2012, and then Assistant Vice President in 2013. Dean’s strength and proven experience in fostering a positive employee relations environment have continued to contribute to Tropical’s family-oriented culture. He began his career in Human Resources in 1989 with The Boeing Company. Although his HR career has taken him in many different directions, he has become a specialist in company turnarounds. He served as HR Manager for Blue Bird Body Company from 1997 to 2000. Then, from 2000 to 2007, he was Director of Human Resources at Pirelli North America. Beitler received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Trinity College in 2003. He served on the University of Georgia state commission for adult education, where he assisted in developing the state curriculum for the Aerospace Mechanic degree. He also served as president of the Middle Georgia chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management in 1999. Dean currently lives in Port St. Lucie with his wife, Charlotte; they have three sons and two beautiful granddaughters.
