2023 Prestigious Women Awards Honoree: Christine Barney

In 1989, Christine Barney moved to Miami and never looked back. Falling in love with the city’s entrepreneurial spirit, Barney joined Bruce Rubin Associates and became a partner within three years of the newly named Rubin, Barney & Birger. She continued to scale the agency, attract the best talent, and keep clients and staff for an average of nine years. Today, rbb Communications is a full-service PR, digital, creative and marketing agency that sets the bar high. Rbb is a five-time U.S. agency of the year, a top five global creative innovator and ranked fourth in the nation for energy/renewables communications. Barney believes in a work-life blend and aside from being a married mother of three, she is active in the community. She is the founding chair of the South Florida Business Council, past chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Miami, and is on the executive committee of the Beacon Council and Board of the Orange Bowl Committee. Barney received PRSA’s Bill Adams Lifetime Achievement Award and recently was named a 2022 South Florida Business Journal Ultimate CEO and repeatedly listed among Florida Trend’s 500 Most Influential Leaders.
