The Seagate Golf Club, a renowned golf and country club that boasts one of the finest championship golf courses in Palm Beach County, recently revealed the newly renovated 18-hole championship golf course and practice facilities. The project was headed by the esteemed architect J. Drew Rogers, who is recognized worldwide for his exceptional work in golf course design. After the renovation, the Seagate Golf Club’s Joe Lee golf course is now considered one of the best in the region, offering a more challenging yet enjoyable experience for golf enthusiasts.
“Our architect carefully analyzed our course and designed the plans for the full renovation of the entirety of our golf facilities,” Alan Fike says, the Seagate’s Director of Agronomy. “Throughout the renovation, I was on the course each day, ensuring that the myriad of intricate design details was executed to plan. We know our members will be very pleased with the results.”
The golf course boasts 18 championship holes that meander through 300 acres of lush Bimini Bermuda grass and are lined with trees. The practice facility is equally impressive, featuring a fully equipped driving range, pitching and bunker areas, and a team of PGA professionals to assist golfers. The course was renovated in April 2023, enhancing gameplay on every hole. The greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, irrigation, drainage, turfgrasses, landscaping, driving range, and practice facilities have all been improved to deliver an unparalleled golfing experience.
“Recognized as one of the best golf courses in the region, this full renovation serves to continue to provide our members with the world-class facilities they’ve come to expect,” Alex Schnoeller says, Managing Director of The Seagate.
The Seagate also underwent a renovation of its 41,064 square-foot Golf Clubhouse. The clubhouse boasts a dining room serving lunch, brunch, and dinner, offering indoor and outdoor seating options. In addition, the clubhouse features a Grand Ballroom, Dining Room, Grille Room, and Courtyard. The renovation included architectural finishes in the lobby, meeting rooms, event spaces, locker rooms, corridors, and the outdoor patio.
The refreshed space of the Clubhouse draws inspiration from its serene and tailored aesthetic and the rich history of Palm Beach. The color palette boasts of historic colorways and jute wallcovering in the architecture, while the upholstery features soft neutrals and sage greens, all contributing to an overall relaxed ambiance. The space is furnished with leather tufted couches in intimate seating areas, a custom reception desk detailed in burl wood and accented with a leather top, and new brass glowing alabaster light fixtures. Furthermore, the clubhouse boasts a curated art collection that blends a mixture of painterly abstract pieces with vintage photos by Slim Aarons of Palm Beach and the surrounding area. The patio area showcases marble dining tables and rattan furniture, lending a relaxed nod to Hollywood regency glamour.
