Ranger Good Works Hosts Annual Career City and Scholarship Fund Event at Dillard Elementary

The organization aims to empower under-resourced local school communities in South Florida.

Ranger Good Works, a nonprofit based in Fort Lauderdale, recently held its 11th Annual Career City event showcase at Dillard Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale. Over 95 local companies and organizations, 70 of which have participated for ten years, along with 200 corporate volunteers, joined together to create an unforgettable experience. The event was aimed at over 900 Dillard Elementary students and 60 students from North Fork Elementary in grades Pre-K—5, guiding them through an interactive make-shift city presentation.

The event by Ranger Good Works aims to introduce the students of Dillard Elementary to a wide range of careers and opportunities, inspiring them to dream big and reach for the stars. It is part of the nonprofit’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact and difference in the lives of the students and faculty of Dillard Elementary.

This year’s program featured a special presentation by Ranger Good Works, who will be offering a scholarship fund to support 19-year-old J-Terra Louis. She is a former Ranger Good Works program participant and an alumna of Dillard Elementary. Louis graduated with honors from West Broward High School and is now pursuing a degree in Applied Science specializing in Information Technology at Broward College. Her passion lies in the field of Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking. J’Terra aims to utilize advancements in science to bring justice and support to those in need. Despite being accepted to prestigious institutions, she selflessly chose to attend a school close to home to continue supporting her mother in her battle with cancer. Louis has maintained remarkable grades while serving as a prominent caretaker in her mother’s life.
