Opening this Fall: The Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel

Omni Hotels & Resorts will bring its first property in this market to the Broward County Convention Center.

The recently revamped Broward County Convention Center will welcome the 29-story, 801-room hotel in September, which represents Omni Hotels & Resorts debut in the Fort Lauderdale market and is part of a larger, $1.3 billion public-private redevelopment project.

The newly built hotel is already accepting reservations ahead of its opening this September. Conveniently connected to the Convention Center, it’s designed to cater to the local community, meeting planners, leisure travelers and cruise guests. Broward County Administrator Monica Cepero said the project will generate more than $450 million for the local economy and, once completed, create more than 3,000 full- and part-time jobs.

Matthews Southwest (MSW) was selected by Broward County to lead the development of the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel as part of the broader expansion of the Broward County Convention Center. It was designed by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects alongside Stantec as architect of record and design builder, Balfour Beatty Construction and interior designs were by EoA Group.

The property will feature a variety of destination dining options including Barchetta, a fine dining Italian chophouse with a sophisticated atmosphere; Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, serving seafood and coastal dishes; Fair Ketch, a lively sports and entertainment bar featuring a Topgolf Swing Suite with two bays; High Tide, a poolside dining experience on the 10th floor; Ibis Sky Lounge, an indoor/outdoor bar with rooftop views; and Hidden Key, a vibrant lobby gathering spot and social hub for all-day drinks and dining.
