Verizon recently became a Silver Corporate Partner of the United Way of Broward County after a $20,000 contribution to support public policy efforts with community conversations and the nonprofit organization’s upcoming Mayors’ Gala in 2022.
“We are grateful for Verizon’s generous gift to support our organization’s mission to fight for the health, education and financial prosperity of every person in our community,” says Kathleen Cannon, president/CEO of United Way of Broward County. “Their contribution plays a critical role in supporting programs that make our community thrive. We look forward to collaborating on our public policy and advocacy efforts as we continue to call attention to and propose solutions to challenges facing those who are working hard but falling short.”
To celebrate the donation to the organization, which advocates for the community’s health, education and financial prosperity, representatives were on hand for a check presentation (pictured). Cannon and Merdochey Taylor LaFrance, the Director of Local Engagement (State & Local Government Affairs) for Verizon, gathered at the United Way of Broward County campus in Fort Lauderdale for a check presentation.
