Shoma Group Launches Plans for New Mixed-Use Development in North Bay Village

Miami-based developer Shoma Group recently unveiled plans for Shoma Bay, a 2.8-acre mixed-use development in the waterfront community of North Bay Village in Miami. The project will boast a 21-story, 327-unit luxury apartment community and 6,315 square feet of retail space, including a rooftop lounge and a Shoma Bazaar food hall. Residences range from 324-square-foot furnished micro studios to 1,435-square-foot three-bedroom units. A portion of the project will be workforce housing.

“North Bay Village is a hidden gem providing a respite from Miami’s metropolitan areas in the middle of Biscayne Bay and surrounded by beautiful water views all around,” Masoud Shojaee says, Shoma Group president and chairman of the Board. “Shoma Bay offers modern, upscale apartments with resort-style amenities and all the essentials for daily life in one place. At Shoma Group, we understand the importance of mixed-use developments and the way they become essential amenities in the neighborhoods where they’re built, as we have seen from our highly successful mixed-use projects over the years.”

Located on the corner of the 79th Street Causeway and East Treasure Drive, Shoma Bay is close to nearby shopping, dining and schools, with direct access to the main highway that connects North Bay Village to Miami Beach and the MiMo District. Residences will feature water views of Biscayne Bay, modern appliances and sleek and attractive finishes, with floor plans designed for maximal efficiency and comfort. The property will feature an array of resort-style amenities for tenants, including a 6,030-square-foot waterfront pool deck overlooking Biscayne Bay with a pool, cabanas and summer kitchen, as well as a resident lounge and bar, spa, fitness center with Technogym equipment and kids club. It also offers a library, a 2,600-square-foot business lounge for co-working, and a sky lounge with a bar and areas for games and movies.

As with Shoma’s other apartment communities, Shoma Bay will have a Pebbs Spa for dogs equipped with an Evolution Dog Wash system where canine residents can be shampooed, conditioned and blown dry. Residents will have assigned gated parking, electric vehicle charging stations, a designated bike room and storage spaces. Shoma MGMT, led by Shoma Group’s CMO Stephanie Shojaee, will handle leasing and management for the property.

“We are thrilled to bring this mixed-use project to life during this time when there is overwhelming demand in the Miami market for brand new, luxury housing in a live-work-play setting,” said Stephanie. “We hand-selected every detail of Shoma Bay, from the gym equipment to the transforming, space-saving furniture in the micro-units, to ensure the highest standards of quality, style and functionality and provide the best living experience we can offer. It will be a great asset to North Bay Village and we look forward to delivering it.”

MSA Architects designed Shoma Bay with interiors by renowned designer Adriana Hoyos. Shoma Bay’s streamlined modern style echoes the art deco architecture of the historic neighborhood. The development will rise on the site of what was once a nightclub by Rat Pack crooner Dean Martin in the 1960s and 70s. Other North Bay Village developments have included recent property purchases with new residential and mixed-use projects plans. Shoma Bay is located at 1850 John F. Kennedy Causeway, North Bay Village, FL 33141. It is slated to break ground this summer and be completed in late 2023.
