John Knox Village to Host Green House Training

The Woodlands at John Knox Village has been chosen as the site for Green House Project training this week. The national training seminars on March 16 and 17 will feature national leaders in the aging healthcare industry. The Green House Project model creates an alternative environment to traditional nursing homes by establishing meaningful homes for seniors.

This one-and-a-half-day workshop will occur at The Woodlands, a 144-bed Green House community offering skilled care and short-term rehab, located at John Knox Village, 651 SW 6th St. in Pompano Beach. Workshop training consists of an overview of the Green House model, research outcomes, tours of the Green House homes and uncovering successful cornerstones to develop and operationalize sustainable Green House homes.

Speakers and tours will explore:

  • Market feasibility
  • Financial feasibility
  • Architectural design
  • Construction insights
  • Operational testimony
  • Staff panel discussions
  • An overview of how elders orchestrated the adoption of the Green House model at John Knox Village
  • Tours of Seaside Cove, a renovated SNF incorporating GHP’s core values, and short-term rehabilitation in Green House homes.

Included in the $595 registration fee are three post-workshop Deep Dive Virtual Webinars, which explore:

  • The Green House Business Case
  • Short-term Rehabilitation Success in the Green House Model
  • Workforce Impact in the Green House Model

For those not able to attend in person but interested in the Deep Dive Virtual Webinar series, registration is available at the cost of $149 per webinar.

The seminars take place on:

Wednesday, March 16: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., outdoor reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 17: 9 a.m. to noon
