Boca-Based Law Firms Merge With New York City Practice

Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP (SSRGA), a leading New York City-based full-service law firm, will expand to South Florida, merging with Bresky Law and Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman, P.A. in a merger effective May 15. The firm will continue to practice under Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP and establish its Florida office at 2424 N Federal Highway in Boca Raton. The South Florida office will focus on appellate, matrimonial, family law, trusts and estates, probate administration, real estate and corporate law.

“Merging these firms will provide additional resources that allow us to continue providing comprehensive, efficient and responsive representation to our clients,” Christen Ritchey says, a founding partner at Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman, P.A. “In addition, we are thrilled to welcome like-minded people to our team, and to continue cultivating an office culture that promotes excellence and happiness.”

SSRGA is a full-service firm with practice areas including real estate, health care, not-for-profit, litigation, business and corporate, matrimonial, family law, and trusts and estates law, including probate administration. The firm will grow by 11 attorneys to a total of 63 attorneys.

The merger will create synergies for SSRGA’s real estate, trusts and estates, and marital and health care practices while further supporting New York City-based clients active in Florida and Florida clients active in New York.

“This expansion creates a significant presence for SSRGA in Florida, enabling us to service clients with business in both markets,” Steven Sladkus says, a founding partner with SSRGA. “The merger also advances our continued growth in a market that is experiencing extraordinary economic momentum.”

Since 2000, Bresky Law has become a go-to law firm for state and federal appellate work in Florida. It handles criminal and civil appeals, administrative appeals and litigation support. The firm also focuses on trusts and estates, real estate and corporate transactions.

“I am so pleased to be joining up with two well-established law firms that are focused on delivering high-quality legal services and client satisfaction,” Robin Bresky says (pictured), founder of Bresky Law. “Our culture and values are perfectly aligned and together, we can be stronger. I look forward to helping grow our team in Florida.”

Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman, P.A. is a matrimonial and family law firm based in Boca Raton that provides family law services ranging from complex litigation to family mediation, collaborative family law, and pre-and post-nuptial agreements.

Bresky and Caroline Johnson, Christen Ritchey and Joel Feldman of Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman, P.A., will be SSRGA partners in the firm’s Florida office.

“We are pleased to welcome the seasoned attorneys from Johnson, Ritchey & Feldman and Bresky Law to the SSRGA team,” Jeffrey M. Schwartz says, a founding partner with SSRGA. “The firms’ depth of experience will be an invaluable asset to new and existing clients, enabling us to focus powerful resources in Florida for existing and new practice areas.”

“We could not be more excited to merge with such wonderful law firms. Each of us has focused on providing quality legal representation to our clients,” Johnson says. “This merger gives us the opportunity to continue to provide these services in more areas of the law. I’m looking forward to helping more people with this incredible team we’re building.”

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
