CareerSource Broward to Host Annual Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Event

To help support local veterans, CareerSource Broward (CSBD) and the Broward Workforce Development Board, Inc. (BWDB) will host the 10th annual Paychecks for Patriots Job Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Plantation Central Park Community Center, 9151 NW 2nd St. in Plantation. The free hiring event is hosted in partnership with the City of Plantation, United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), and Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve. It will help connect veterans, military families and job seekers with over 70 local employers recruiting for job opportunities in South Florida.

“CareerSource Broward is committed to helping our hometown military heroes and their families secure gainful employment while simultaneously benefiting our local employers with capable, experienced and dedicated talent,” Carol Hylton says, CareerSource Broward president and CEO. “This is one of many ways in which CareerSource Broward is proud to serve both our community and country.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with recruiters and apply for jobs. There will also be an on-site Résumé Café to provide attendees with résumé reviews, administrative assistance and update/printing services.

Employers scheduled to participate in the hiring event include Advanced Roofing, Allied Universal, Amazon, Aramark Uniform Services, Broward County Government, Broward College, Broward Health, Coca-Cola, Dayton-Granger, Inc., Fed-Ex, FIU, Humana, Mastec, Memorial Healthcare System, Nova Southeastern University, Papa John’s, Primerica, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, UPS, VITAS Health Care and many more.
