Jeff Conine’s Celebrity Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation

The 29th annual Conine All-Star Golf Classic at Fort Lauderdale Country Club generated $425,000 to underwrite the cost of the Conine Clubhouse, a hotel-like facility where families of children being treated at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital can stay for free. Since opening in 1997, more than 800 families annually reside at the facility. Amenities include private bedrooms with private baths, suites for larger families, a shared living room, a playroom for young children, laundry facilities and a chapel.

The Conine All-Star Golf Classic, hosted by former major league ballplayer Jeff Conine and his wife, Cindy, has raised more than $7 million since its inception in 1994. This year’s event drew nearly 230 golfers, including former professional athletes Jason Taylor, Alonzo Mourning, OJ McDuffie, Glen Rice, Dennis Martinez, Luis Alicea and Lenny Harris.
