Broward Education Foundation Hosts Annual Fundraiser Featuring Grease Lightnin’ Theme

Broward Education Foundation is hosting BrightStar Credit Union’s Grease Lightnin’ Presented by Office Depot from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. The classic movie Grease is the theme for Broward Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser featuring a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and a live band to benefit the teachers and students in Broward County Public Schools. The theme will help transport guests back to Rydell High in the 1970s, so they can expect to see a lot of rolled-up jeans and poodle skirts, penny loafers, saddle shoes and leather jackets.

“The movie soundtrack has stood the test of time and with the soon-to-be-released Grease: The Rise of the Pink Ladies, we knew this would be an opportune time to pay homage to this timeless film,” Shea Ciriago says, CEO of Broward Education Foundation, which provides programs and initiatives for students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. “We’re looking forward to having a reunion with our generous partners, supporters and friends who make it possible for us to raise much-needed awareness and funds to maximize the quality of education in Broward County Public Schools.”

Proceeds benefit Broward Education Foundation’s transformational programs, which include teaching grants to advance PreK-12 achievement, school supplies and educational materials for Title I students and teachers, and scholarships for qualified high school seniors. Each year, the Foundation contributes more than $4 million to Broward County Public Schools, serving as the catalyst for educational excellence.

GREASE Lightnin’ partners include BrightStar Credit Union, Office Depot, Broward Teachers Union, and Lenovo\Jar Systems. Tickets are $300 per person and partnerships start at $2,500. For more information, email [email protected], call 954-662-6212, or visit browardedfoundation.org/greaselightnin
