Tara Montenaro began her career at the YMCA of South Florida as Executive Director of Early Childhood Education, bringing 15 years of experience in Early Childhood Education to the Y. Soon after, her operational background led her to take responsibility over the Association Aquatics, centralizing efforts and creating policy, standard and risk measures to ensure quality and safety. In response to the pandemic, the Y had to change its operation entirely. Montenaro answered the call, restructuring all Y operations from a decentralized model to a centralized model, resulting in program sustainability and revenue production. Soon after, Montenaro was promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations. Today, her responsibility has expanded further, overseeing all YMCA Family Center Operations, Product Line Programs, Youth Development, Marketing, and supporting Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties with the title of Chief Operating Officer. Montenaro was born in Ohio but has lived all over the United States and Europe as a self-proclaimed ‘Military Brat.’ Coming from a family that serves, she has a strong passion for our veterans. Montenaro attended Palm Beach State College, where she completed her bachelor’s degree. In her leisure time, she enjoys anything around the water, attending sporting events, and traveling domestically and abroad. She resides in Boynton Beach.
