A Grand and Upscale Paradise Awaits at Acqualina Resort

It offers an unforgettable experience meant to pamper, relax and invigorate.

At times, we say the word luxury when it comes to describing a place and find it hard to define exactly what makes it that way. How exactly does a place really define and showcase what luxury is? Is it possible to really feel pampered and always surrounded by a glamorous environment, thanks to the all-around experience of a place?

Yes, it is possible. Trust me.

We found that to truly define the overall experience of staying and visiting the Acqualina Resort in Sunny Isles Beach. And we recommend it the next time that you are looking for something a little extra special. Something a little more upscale than the usual hotel.

Not only does Acqualina Resort quiterepresent the word and the immersive experience of being surrounded by an upscale environment, but it’s the type of place that takes care of their overall aesthetic. It makes sure that once you are in there, you are simply somewhere else and only surrounded by their resort brand’s unique personality.

As you walk in, you will not only be surrounded by lush and burgundy-colored and soft seating, chandeliers, and gorgeous flower arrangements in the lobby but you will be treated like royalty when you check-in. Expect a chilled glass of prosecco and huge smiles as they pick the room that has been prepared for you, one that’s ready to whisk you away into a time well-spent relaxing, dining, and enjoying the beach or the pool on the property. We recommend a walk on the beach as you take in the ocean breeze and the warm and bright South Florida sunshine. You won’t regret it.

Let’s begin with the rooms. We were lucky enough to stay in a gorgeous one-bedroom suite with an ocean view. Perfectly packaged with a whirlpool jacuzzi whirlpool tub inside its expansive bathroom, a wraparound balcony with plenty of seating to enjoy a beverage, and ocean views during the day, the sunset and at night. The view and the sound of the waves will surely lull you to sleep right after and relax you. Complete with a full kitchen and living room, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a comfortable stay.

The rooms at the Acqualina Resort are meant for long stays. For example. The one-bedroom Oceanfront Suite is nicely sized at 1,660 square feet and is elegant and spacious. Interested in a little more elegance? The resort also offers a deluxe one-bedroom suite that is on the 22nd floor of the resort, which means even more views upon views for those who take the leap and book it. Then, the sky is truly the limit with the offerings at Acqualina Resort regarding their rooms. From two to three-bedroom suites and beyond, you can make it a stay that’s planned with a group of loved ones.

While there, we had a chance to indulge in their endless breakfast buffet, offering everything from fresh scrambled eggs to homestyle potatoes, a selection of fruits and charcuterie and everything that you can imagine that will help you begin your day in the best way possible.

As for lunch, we had the chance to indulge on delicious grub, from tuna tartare to a delish main course consisting of a perfectly cooked octopus, at the resort’s oceanfront spot Costa Grill. While there, expect delicious and fresh cocktails, as well as sophisticated American fare and beyond, all as inventive as it is delicious.

As for dinner, we had the lucky chance to try out their Japanese restaurant, Ke-Uh. Think of fresh sushi, a beautiful selection of Japanese whiskey and sake, and scrumptious dishes such as the BBQ Ribs with French fries to make your palate happy. It’s the perfect place for a chat, a dine and please do not leave without trying their unique Espresso Martini.

Finally, the Acqualina Spa is truly a magical place and one that we recommend making a reservation for while visiting the resort. The face and body treatments offered at the expansive 20,000 square foot spa are not only luxurious, but you can enjoy a full day enjoying the spa’s offerings, such as the steam room and many more unique options to pick from. We had the chance to enjoy a couple’s massage, my husband and I, and we were impressed by the knowledgeable staff that walked us through the best options for each of our massages based on our current needs, some such as relieving the stress of back pain. The experience is beautiful, as you also get the chance to end the couple’s massage in the private suite with a champagne toast and chocolates.

This proves that a stay and visit at the resort is not only a stay. It’s an unforgettable experience meant to pamper, relax and invigorate each of your senses.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
