Angels for Humanity to Host 8th Annual Catwalk for Charity Fundraiser

Angels For Humanity will hold its 8th Annual Charity Brunch and Fashion Show Fundraiser, Catwalk for Charity, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. The fundraiser will feature a fashion runway show by Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez. The event’s proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization’s program, which supports children from Miami’s underserved communities and those in abject poverty in Haiti and other developing nations. The programs provide access to quality education, school supplies, prescription eyeglasses, medical and dental care and Breakfast with Santa’s “Joy of Giving” annual toy distribution, which benefits over 5,000 children.

“We know that especially during these times, it’s imperative for us to make time and push towards finding the necessary resources for our current and next generation of students,” Judith Joseph says, founder of Angels for Humanity. “This event has always brought together some of Miami’s most generous and passionate leaders in the philanthropic sector who believe in our mission to help those who need it most. We couldn’t be more grateful to those who support us.”

WPLG Local 10 news anchor Calvin Hughes, a long-time Angels For Humanity supporter, will be the Master of Ceremony for the event. The afternoon event will begin with an exclusive silent auction and VIP cocktail reception, showcasing the luxury signature handbag collection from Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger. Following the pre-event reception, guests will enjoy a sit-down champagne brunch and experience Angel Sanchez’s designs from his newest couture collection. The event will also honor Tim Waller, Tatiana Teo and Jean Raymond Alexandre for their support and commitment to the organization.

General admission tickets start at $500 and include a champagne brunch, fashion show, gift bag and silent auction access featuring art, fashion and exclusive getaways. A VIP runway front-row seat is available for $1,000 and is all-inclusive, with attendance at the Celebrity VIP Reception. BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
