Danielle Giarratano is the owner and founder of SHORS Rehabilitation Services. She has always had a passion for helping others, which led her to a career as a Speech and Language Pathologist. She received her B.A. in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Long Beach in 2013. She went on to receive her Master’s in Speech and Language Pathology from California State University, Long Beach, in 2016. During her educational career, Danielle worked as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant and as a Speech and Language Pathologist on a credential, which further developed her knowledge of the field. Danielle has always had a passion for working with children. Throughout her educational career, she knew that she wanted to create a private practice that concentrated on treating the whole child in a collaborative manner. She wrote her graduate thesis on collaboration and presented her research at the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s annual conference in 2017, as well as at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s annual conference that same year. Collaboration is vital for the progress and generalization of skills. Since graduating, Danielle has spent her time working in the school system and in private practice, both in California and, most recently, in Florida. She has dedicated much of her time to working with children with special needs and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She has a background in working with children with behaviors, especially those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Danielle has a diverse background, working with children with various disorders including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. In her free time, Danielle continues to learn and develop her skills as a therapist. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, her two sons, and her two dogs. She likes to go to the beach and enjoys outdoor activities.
