City Furniture Named Home Furnishings Association’s 2022 Retailer of The Year

The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) named CITY Furniture (CITY) as its 2022 Retailer of the Year in the category of retail stores with more than 50 employees. The Tamarac-based furniture store is headed by Andrew Koenig (pictured receiving the award).

“We are so excited that the CITY team won this prestigious Retailer of the Year Award,” Koenig says, CITY’s CEO. “We’d like to thank the HFA, its members, and all the judges for their consideration and appreciate their vote of confidence in our CITY Family. I’m beyond proud of the work the team does and am so happy to see them honored with this recognition. Thank you!”

The awards were chosen by a panel of judges comprised of the HFA’s Board of Directors, HFA members, Past ROTY Winners, manufacturers, service providers/suppliers and industry media.

“The Retailer of the Year Awards were unbelievably competitive this year as we had more nominees than in recent memory,” Mark Schumacher says, CEO of HFA. “The numbers reflect just how much incredible work is being done by retailers even in the face of COVID-related challenges. Those receiving a 2022 award stood out in this deep pool of talent for their exemplary level of agility, innovation, and excellence. Their stories are inspiring.”

Last week, an in-store celebration allowed Schumacher to present the prestigious award to the entire CITY team.

“This honor is well-deserved,” Schumacher says. “CITY is recognized as a powerhouse in the home furnishings industry. From the incredible foundation that Keith Koenig created to the innovating approach his son Andrew Koenig is leading, CITY is cementing its legacy as the top in company culture, customer experience, and retail excellence.”
