GIRLS RULE — a mentorship and empowerment program at JA — hosts more than 200 high school girls for its signature annual event, an inspirational day of speakers and workshops, a business fashion show and festive luncheon.
The Girls Rule Initiative at Junior Achievement of South Florida (JA) matches empowered women in the South Florida community with local high school girls. Through mentorship, girls are encouraged to hone their talents,
embrace their dreams and ignite their superpowers. The event takes place every March at JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion (1130 Coconut Creek Blvd., Coconut Creek, FL 33066). Workshop examples include self-care, discovering your passion, finding a meaningful career, goal setting, the value of mentors, how to stand out from
the pack and the power of resiliency. Guests at the event also delight in a “Dress for Success” runway fashion show
featuring 15 students from JA who model modern business fashions appropriate for the careers they aspire to have. Girls leave the event feeling empowered, inspired and ready to tackle their futures with grace and intelligence
