Chef Samuel Gorenstein of Abbalé Telavivian Kitchen, Miami’s quintessential modern Mediterranean dining destination, is teaming up for a special, one-night collaboration with Chef Álvaro Clavijo and the culinary team of El Chato, the acclaimed contemporary Colombian bistro from Bogotá, ranked No. 25 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants of 2024. On Thursday, September 19th, Gorenstein and Clavijo will present “Mediterranean Meets the Tropics,” a specially curated six-course dinner featuring dishes that showcase the Mediterranean and Latin influences of their celebrated backgrounds and establishments. Both chefs, rooted in Colombian tradition and united by a passion for Mediterranean food, will create a unique dining experience priced at $110 per person, held at Abbalé Telavivian Kitchen in Aventura, with reservations available from 7 – 9 PM on OpenTable.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with welcome cocktails courtesy of Brugal 1888 Rum and No. 3 London Dry Gin, setting the stage for an evening that highlights the rich flavors of Colombia fused with the vibrant, fresh ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine. The seated dinner, hosted by Chef Gorenstein and Clavijo, alongside Abbalé Chef de Cuisine Banner Mendez, will feature a meticulously crafted menu that celebrates the intersection of Colombian tradition and Mediterranean culinary creativity. A wine pairing is available for $35 per person, curated by Abbalé Telavivian Kitchen’s Beverage Director, Orli Vadai. The evening will conclude with a digestif shot courtesy of Desquite Aguardiente Artesanal, leaving guests with a taste of Colombia\’s finest.
