Subaru of Pembroke Pines to Host Annual Dog Appreciation “Pawty” and Pet Adoption Event on Oct. 27

Sponsored By

October 27 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, Subaru of Pembroke Pines will host its annual Dog Appreciation “Pawty” and Pet Adoption Event on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 12-2 p.m. with special guest, Tour with Teddy. Guests are invited to bring their furry friends to celebrate Subaru Loves Pets® Month with music, food, giveaways and a pet costume contest. Pet retailer Pet Supplies Plus and groomer Scenthound will also be present.
The event is part of Subaru Loves Pets®, a national Subaru initiative that aims to support the lives of as many shelter animals as possible. For those who are yet to be pet parents, Subaru of Pembroke Pines invites guests to consider adopting a pet from the Humane Society of Broward County, who will be present with a selection of pets available for adoption. The Humane Society of Broward County will benefit from a $100 donation from Subaru of Pembroke Pines for each day that a pet is adopted throughout the month of October.
The community is invited to enjoy this free family-friendly event that features fun for all ages, including a \”wrapped\” Subaru vehicle that kids can color on and a photo booth with silly props. Dog trainers from the Humane Society of Broward County, doggie treats and other community partners will be present to join the fun. In addition to the exciting activities planned, Subaru of Pembroke Pines has been hosting a monthly Pet of the Month social media contest. All winners are invited to the event and will receive a golden retriever plush toy. These plush toys can also be purchased for a minimum donation of $10, with proceeds benefiting the animal-assisted therapy endowment at Joe DiMaggio Children\’s Hospital, an initiative by the Craig Zinn Automotive Group. At the event, the Pet of the Year winner will be announced, with the grand prize recipient receiving a $100 gift card to use at the pet store of the winner\’s choice. This monthly contest has encouraged participants to showcase its pet\’s unique personalities, with the winning pet being recognized for its outstanding qualities and featured as a highlight of the celebration.
According to the ASPCA®, almost 6.5 million animals enter shelters nationwide each year. Subaru is committed to helping all animals — including those in shelters — stay safe and healthy. BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
