First Food and Wine Festival at Sea to Sail Out of Miami

The all-inclusive culinary cruise will sail in March 2024 from Miami to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay.

The first-ever Chefs Making Waves, a four-night all-inclusive culinary cruise, will showcase the country’s top celebrity chefs, personalities, authors, and more. Managed by Sixthman, Agency 21 Consulting (A21), and EBG, the cruise departs from the Port of Miami on Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and sails through the islands of the Caribbean from Monday, March 25 to Friday, March 29, 2024.

For those seeking exceptional opportunities to indulge in delectable cuisine and learn from the most renowned culinary experts in the industry, the Chefs Making Waves cruise offers the best of both worlds. This exclusive expedition brings together some of the world’s top chefs, wine and spirit producers, providing passengers with a premier gastronomic celebration at sea. The itinerary includes a range of experiences such as walk-around tastings, cooking demonstrations, curated dinners, late-night parties, brunches, lunches, and mixology sessions, all led by award-winning Food Network chefs, TV personalities, cookbook authors, food activists, and restaurateurs, such as Michael Symon, Robert Irvine, Aarón Sánchez, Scott Conant, Marc Murphy, Buddy Valastro, Andrew Zimmern, Anne Burrell, Marcus Samuelsson, and Maneet Chauhan.

“Our goal is to provide guests with an immersive culinary experience unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before,” Jeff Cuellar says, Vice President of Sixthman Partnerships. “We are thrilled to partner with A21 and EBG to bring our first-ever Chefs Making Waves food cruise to life. We believe that food is an important part of any vacation experience, and we’re excited to bring together some of the most talented tastemakers in the industry aboard to offer guests the opportunity to indulge in world-class cuisine while enjoying all the amenities and entertainment that Norwegian Cruise Line has to offer.”

Along with sharpening their culinary skills, guests can enjoy a beachside barbeque hosted on the sand of Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay. The Pool Deck and Garden Cafe will host late-night takeover events with decadent sweets and sounds of the ’70s at the Dessert Disco. Guests can also experience chef collaborations every night in the dining room, followed by post-dinner events, including interactive culinary games and food-inspired movie screenings. Most events will be led and hosted by culinary and mixology mavens.

When purchasing a stateroom for this food event and festival, passengers receive access to all programming (excluding select premium experiences) and a complimentary Premium Plus Beverage Package that includes top-shelf cocktails, spirits, beer, champagne, and wine by the glass, unlimited soft drinks and juices, unlimited still and sparkling bottled water, all Starbucks coffee, specialty drinks and energy drinks. The cruise will take place on Norwegian’s Pearl, an award-winning Jewel class vessel that spans 965 feet and has just over 1,000 cabins. During the stay, passengers can access a concierge service, a world-class tranquil spa, a dazzling casino, unforgettable nightlife, and countless bars and lounges.

Pre-sales are now underway. Interested guests are encouraged to register early to secure their spot on board, as cabins are limited. The public on-sale will begin Friday, June 9, at noon EST. Chefs Making Waves is expected to sell out quickly. Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
