Try some of the specialty rum cocktails available at Living Room this Friday for 20% off regular price. Guests can choose from a few select options, including the Bee Keeper with Puerto Rican Rum and lemon and honey infused cherry bitters topped with soda water, The Hemingway with Guatemalan aged rum, maraschino liqueur, grapefruit bitters and fresh-squeezed lime juice, Rum With Me with a mix of Guatemalan aged rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, coconut cream, pineapple, basil and granulated brown sugar and the Day and Night Daiquiri with Puerto Rican rum, coconut, fresh lime and basil syrup.

 

Burlock Coast

Celebrate National Rum Day at the biggest rum room in South Florida this Friday at Burlock Coast. This rustic seafood eatery is located just inside The Ritz-Carlton on Fort Lauderdale Beach and will be serving up their classic Rum Punch made with Wray & Nephew Rum for just $5 all day on August 16th. Guests can also indulge in specialty “Cocteles” like the Guava Limoncillo made with Oak & Cane Rum, lemon, guava syrup and ginger beer or the Rum Runner’s Remorse with Fwaygo Pineapple Rum, falernum, tephache and lillet rouge.

 

L Bar

Choose from a selection of Classics or Not So Classic cocktails at L Bar located inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in celebration of Rum Day. Classic cocktails include the Queens Park Swizzle with Ron Zacapa Rum, mint leaves, bitters and fresh lime, the Dark n’ Stormy with Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, fresh lime and ginger beer, or the Mai Tai with Appleton Estate Rum, Rhum Barbancourt, orange curacao, orgeat and fresh lime. If you’re feeling adventurous, try something off the Not So Classics menu, which includes Watermelon Sangria with watermelon, Sauvignon Blanc, Flor de Cana Rum and Cointreau or Hibiscus Punch with Flor de Cana Rum, fresh lemon, hibiscus syrup, pineapple and raspberries. These specialty cocktails are just $13 and will be available throughout the day on August 16th.

Local and global rum bands will come together on August 16th at The Confidante Miami Beach to enjoy live music, cigar rolling, games and rum cocktails from 6 to 9 p.m. Celebrate National Rum Day with complimentary tastings and food prepared by the chef onsite. BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
