Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival Hosts Extravagant Kentucky Derby Event

Experience the annual horse race on a 30-foot screen.

For a fun-filled celebration of the 150th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) will host a Derby Day filled with live entertainment, a BBQ buffet, an open bar (with mint juleps, of course), and live horses. Guests are encouraged to dress in their Derby best, with festivities beginning at 4 p.m. at Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale. The race will be projected on the theater’s 30-foot, high-definition screen, and prizes will be awarded for the most creative Derby hats, bonnets, and outfits. Additionally, guests can participate in a 50/50 raffle by choosing the horses they think will win, place, or show.

Doors open at 4 p.m. at Savor Cinema, 503 SE 6th St. in Fort Lauderdale, with free parking in the courthouse garage on SE 5th Avenue, adjacent to the theater. Tickets are $75 for FL
