Fort Lauderdale Swimwear Retailer Expands Its Presence to Palm Beach County

Native Realty brokered the lease transaction.

Fort Lauderdale-based swimwear retailer Montce Swim has signed a lease for a new store situated on the lively Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach. The new space is located at 10 SE First Ave. (Atlantic Ave.) Suite C, spans 1,720 square feet. This move marks an expansion for the homegrown retailer as it branches out from its flagship Fort Lauderdale store and its Miami and California locations to the rapidly growing downtown Delray Beach area.

Jaime Sturgis, leading the Fort Lauderdale-based real estate firm Native Realty, facilitated the lease transaction.

“This deal is especially gratifying given our long-term history with Montce Swim,” Sturgis says. “As we continue to gain substantial market share in Palm Beach County, we are increasingly leveraging our relationships there to help clients elsewhere in South Florida achieve their expansion goals. We have numerous exciting leasing and investment sales transactions in the works in Palm Beach County.”

Montce, founded by South Florida natives Alexandra and Devin Grief, launched its inaugural store in Fort Lauderdale in 2013. Since then, the brand has extended its presence to Miami’s Design District and Hermosa Beach in California. Their swimwear collections have garnered attention in publications like Vogue and Marie Claire and have been spotted on celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Emily Ratajkowski.

Sturgis facilitated the acquisition of a retail building in Fort Lauderdale’s up-and-coming Studio City neighborhood for Montce Swim in 2021. This allowed the swimwear retailer to expand its store in the city, meeting the increasing demand from local customers.

Native Realty’s Fort Lauderdale office is now twice as large as its previous headquarters. The 4,000-square-foot office is located at 1926 E. Sunrise Blvd. in the city’s Victoria Park neighborhood.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.
