Galbi Steakhouse & Sushi Signs Lease to Open First South Florida Location

A restaurant concept that’s generating a lot of buzz is making its way to Florida thanks to the efforts of Lee & Associates South Florida. Senior Vice President Matthew Katzen recently represented Galbi Steakhouse & Sushi in securing a new lease at Hyde Beach House in Hollywood. New to the Florida market, the restaurant plans to open its doors on the ground floor of Hyde Beach House at 4010 S. Ocean Drive, marking its first location outside of Connecticut. The 10-year lease is for a 3,300-square-foot space. GALBI aims for a summer 2024 opening, with Katzen advising GALBI in its search for additional locations within South Florida.

“GALBI fills a void for high-quality Korean cuisine in the Hollywood area,” Katzen says. “It offers a truly authentic dining experience that will be extremely well-received. We continue to see intense demand from Northeast U.S. restaurant operators seeking to expand to South Florida.”

One of the most popular methods in Korean cuisine for grilling meat, usually beef, pork, or chicken, is known as Korean barbecue. The dishes are typically cooked on gas or charcoal grills built into the dining table. The original location in Connecticut offers Korean barbecue and a wide variety of appetizers, sushi rolls, salads, and poke bowls.

At the Hyde Beach House, visitors can enjoy a beautiful waterfront component that includes boat dockage. Galbi will serve hotel guests, condominium residents, boaters and other visitors.

“We applaud Matthew Katzen on successfully representing GALBI Korean Steakhouse & Sushi in its expansion into South Florida,” Lee & Associates South Florida president Matthew Rotolante says. “With restaurant space at a premium in our market, Matthew leveraged his relationships, market knowledge and Lee & Associates’ unmatched platform to produce an exceptional outcome for his client.”
