Luxury in the pandemic era
French designer Remi Tessier and Milan-based Metrica collaborated on the Palm Beach home of billionaire Robert Stiller, the founder of EZ Wider and Keurig Green Mountain Coffee. Yacht inspiration is present in the residence by creating a ceiling of bleached oak beams with fillings made from bamboo woven with golden and silver upholstery, as well as the sweeping staircase. “In today’s unprecedented times, luxury looks different than it has in the past—companies like Metrica are catering to unique circumstances where ultra-high net worth clients are sharing life’s best experiences in the comfort of their own environments, whether it be in their home or on their yacht,” says Mark Mantione, North American CEO of Metrica. “For example, though safety and security have always been a top priority in the ultra-high net worth world, we now have to add health and wellbeing into the mix when designing these spaces.” Hunkering down can include skiing or golf simulators, easily cleanable materials and state-of-the-art technology for working and learning.
