José J. López has been named New Chief Medical Officer at Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale

José J. López has officially been named the Chief Medical Officer at Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. López will lead all medical staff and healthcare professionals, including the Holy Cross Medical Group. He will also be responsible for administrative and operational responsibilities for Holy Cross Health.

Dr. López earned his M.D., completed his residency, and was chief resident in emergency medicine the University of Massachusetts. He received an MBA in Medical Services Management from John Hopkins University and holds certificate in managing health care delivery from Harvard Business School. Dr. López graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University.

“We value José’s experience, leadership and dedication,” said Mark Doyle, president and CEO of Holy Cross Health. “During his more than 20-year career, José has served patients with the highest standards of excellence and has championed and led multiple national and international endeavors with world-class integrated healthcare providers. We are fortunate to have him join Holy Cross Health.”  

Dr. López served as Chief Executive Officer at Healthpoint Hospital in Abu Dhabi, where he positioned the hospital as a dominant provider in the local market serving nearly 1,700 patients daily. 

“I look forward to working with our caregiving teams in providing outstanding clinical quality and the highest quality, safe patient experience,” said Dr. López. “I am aligned with the mission and vision of Holy Cross as we continue to be a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.”
