Memorial Healthcare System receives COVID-19 vaccine

This morning, Memorial Healthcare System announced that it will innoculate its first frontline workers with the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine today. It is one of only five healthcare systems in Florida chosen as host for the vaccine, which arrived early this morning following CDC guidelines.

Several Memorial leaders are expected to comment on the vaccine today, including president and CEO Aurelio Fernandez and chief nursing executive Maggie Hansen.

Memorial Healthcare System encompasses six hospitals in the area, including Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, as well as 24/7 facilities, a health specialty center, and a nursing home.
