New Wawa Store Coming to Midtown Plantation

After receiving city approval, a new Wawa store will be the final phase of a redevelopment project at 100 Pine Island Road on the southeast corner of Broward Boulevard and Pine Island Road in Plantation. Weston-based Azor Advisory Services, a retail real estate management and development firm, is developing the three-acre site, which features Midtown Plaza, a 6,400-square-foot retail center occupied by a Starbucks with a drive-thru, Chim Authentic Thai and Sushi and Smoosh Cookies. A building permit for the Wawa Store is pending, which will be located on the corner where a dilapidated 1970s-era office building once stood.

“We are so pleased to be bringing a Wawa to this part of Plantation and finalizing the vision we had for this site when we bought in 2016,” Beth Azor says, CEO and Founder of Weston-based Azor Advisory Services. “It fills a big need in the area for fuel service and a quick place to pick up a freshly made cup of coffee, sandwich or gallon of milk.”

New Jersey-based Wawa offers freshly prepared foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services and surcharge-free ATMs. The stores offer a large fresh food service selection, including Wawa brands such as custom prepared hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, specialty beverages and an assortment of soups, sides and snacks.

Azor owns and operates six retail centers in Broward valued at over $100 million through various partnerships.
