Scene: Studio 54 Event to Feature Performances by Joe Posa as Liza Minnelli and Michael Dean as Cher

All the funds raised during the upcoming event will be directed toward the programs and services offered by Flite Center.

Get ready to relive the iconic Studio 54 nightclub scene with a twist at “SCENE: Studio 54 Reinvented,” the latest social happening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood to support the Flite Center with the afterparty at Daer Nightclub.

“’ SCENE: Studio 54 Reinvented’ has already garnered a great buzz in the community and we are excited to see it come to life as we raise funds to fulfill the mission of the Flite Center,” Christine Frederick says, CEO of Flite Center, which provides vulnerable young adults with resources and support to help them transition to independent living. “We are grateful to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood, as well as our other valued partners that are uniting to help us assist our community’s vulnerable youth.”

Once inside the venue, guests will be transported to an unforgettable experience filled with pulsating music and lights, free-flowing champagne, delectable food and an open bar. The event will also feature nationally recognized celebrity impersonators, including Joe Posa as Liza Minnelli and Michael Dean as Cher, who will pay homage to classic hits.

Additionally, attendees can win prizes from a balloon pop activity, which offers $20 or $50 certificates for dinner for two at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood. Among the balloon prizes are two electric guitars signed by Ellen DeGeneres and Little Big Town and a “Party Like A Rock Star” guitar basket that includes a stay at the hotel. Moreover, a raffle drawing will feature a one Day Bora Bora Cabana Experience for up to 10 guests at the Guitar Hotel pool area, including rental, a $1,000 food and beverage credit, service fees, and taxes (valued at over $5,200). Guests can also compete to win a personalized jewelry piece created by Daoud Jewelers and interact with an Andy Warhol doppelganger.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
