Spirit Airlines Launches First-Ever Miami Service

Miami is now one of 82 destinationsĀ Spirit AirlinesĀ serves after the carrier began flying out of Miami International Airport (MIA) on Oct. 6. Miami-Dade County and Spirit Airlines officials recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of the first-ever Miami service by Spirit.Ā

The Miramar-based carrier flies to 15 countries, including the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. Currently, Spirit will serve nine destinations from MIA, followed by 22 more destinations being added in November and January, for a total of 20 domestic and 11 international spots.
