The Balfour Hotel Opens in Miami Beach

Featuring new ownership and management that oversaw a $4 million renovation, The Balfour Hotel officially reopened in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood. The historic property’s makeover featured upgrades to the hotel’s public spaces, lobby restaurant, and 82 guest rooms and suites, encompassing two art-deco-style buildings linked by an open-air courtyard.

“Our vision for The Balfour Hotel was to create a relaxing oasis and hidden gem among the buzzing energy synonymous with Miami Beach,” says James Moore, general manager of The Balfour Hotel. “Our impeccably renovated, classic art deco property just steps from the beach is ideally situated near South Beach’s world-famous attractions but quietly nestled in the affluent South of Fifth neighborhood, an enclave that offers guests a serene vibe of relaxation and comfortable luxury.”

Built in 1940 by Anton Skislewicz, who played an instrumental role in Miami Beach’s art deco history, the hotel offers 55 standard king rooms, 10 double queen rooms, 16 superior king rooms, and three suites with newly renovated bathrooms and furnishings. Each room includes Italian coffee brand Lavazza with single-serve pods for Americanos and espressos as well as teas. Despite the recent upgrades, the hotel’s original outdoor moniker “Lord Balfour” remains illuminated in cerulean lights.

The buildings’ east and west sundecks provide lounge seating for group events and small gatherings to enjoy sunset views of Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The property has begun accepting reservations with rates starting at $209 per night with reduced prices available through its Ocean Sandy Paws promotion.
