Already a national historic landmark, The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables can also claim to be among the best golf destinations in Florida after Golf Digest chose the property as one of Florida’s best golf resorts in 2021.
“We’re privileged to have been honored by Golf Digest and its readers with this prestigious award,” says Lara Pavloff, Director at the Biltmore Hotel. “Golf Digest provides tremendous insight on the sport for its avid golfers, so to be regarded as the top golf resort by this outlet is a testament to the quality we deliver to our discerning guests and golfers daily.”
The Biltmore was selected for the honor as part of Golf Digest’s sixth annual Editors’ Choice Awards to help its readers identify the best golf courses in the world. Resorts are selected based on the lifestyle, products and services they can offer guests and members.
After completing the restoration of the Biltmore’s golf course in late 2018, it is now one of only nine Donald Ross designed golf courses to be featured in the top 100 in the world. The restoration added more than 7,100 yards to the course, making it capable of hosting championship-level play. The course was initially built in 1925 and features 419-Bermuda grass fairways and USGA-specified greens, with 84 of its original 85 bunkers still intact.
