The Captains Creates Program Benefiting Kids In Distress

As part of its effort to enhance the community it serves beyond providing services, The Captains created The Captains of KIDS program, which benefits The Kids In Distress, Inc. (KID), an organization working to prevent child abuse by preserving families and treating children who have been abused and neglected.

Augusto “The Captain” Alagia, owner of The Captains and a father of two little girls, established the program to offer premium painting service to renovate a KID on-site-foster home with a new paint job. The renovation project will cover all interior ceilings, walls, doors and trims to bring more fun to the home environment, including a mural crafted by Alagia, making the foster home a temple of love and care.

Along with The Captains, other business partners working on the project include Michael Gaurnier of Michael Gaurnier Specialized Inspection Services and Jay Granieri with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. To celebrate and deliver the renovated foster home, The Captains will hold an event on April 30 at its Fort Lauderdale headquarters, 1446 N. Federal Hwy., to raise funds for the project to help its continuity and improve more foster homes. The funds raised will be generated from selling Brazilian barbecue on a stick and caipirinha. Local artists will also exhibit their work, donating a percentage of the pieces sold to the project. Other forms of donations will be announced at the event.
