United Way of Broward Showcases Veteran Program to U.S. Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs

The nonprofit's Mission United program connects veterans and their families with essential services

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs, the Honorable Donald M. Remy, and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz recently paid tribute to the services the United Way of Broward County’s Mission United program provides. In January, the two visited the newly opened Veteran Resource Center in Fort Lauderdale to meet with Mission United staff and Veteran clients to learn about the extensive work provided to the Veteran community. They also presented the team with a challenge coin for their dedication. The Mission United program helps veterans secure housing, jobs and health care. It will celebrate 10 years of service at the 2023 Mayors’ Gala on April 29 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
