A Beautiful and Vintage-Inspired Stay Awaits at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort

The guest rooms are spacious and offer beautiful views.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t have minded a bit if I had the chance to jump into a time machine and head back over to the 1950s and 1960s. You mean, a time machine could offer me a chance to embark on different adventures and have an experience during those decades? Sign me up! I mean, how cool and retro was that architecture during that time? From the colors to the overall environment, those times made colorful décor and fun the norm.

Well, thank you, Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort. This Loews Hotels & Resorts property doesn’t only take you back, but its style and look are reminiscent of those days, making it a fun place to stay at a visit during a visit to the Universal Orlando Resort.

While visiting the Universal theme parks is a joyful experience, there’s nothing better than adding a fun stay and a chance to enjoy an environment featuring a mid-century modern vibe into the mix with your vacation experience. Little might people even realize that this hotel is not just a place, but it’s an experience on its own and a unique destination.

As soon as you walk into the lobby, you’ll be greeted by a colorful and gorgeous design palate complete with bold and bright colors and scenic views from sweeping windows. As you check-in, you’ll not only be tempted to shop at the Universal Orlando Resort’s in-property gift shop but you’ll also be greeted by the classy Swizzle Bar.

Do we recommend a drink there? We certainly do, and make sure to ask for whatever your heart desires.

The bar doesn’t only serve its drinks in elegant and vintage glassware, but it the mixologists there make the best Old-Fashioned cocktails, as well as classic sips such as a Vesper or Dirty Martini. And they also make them right.

So, sink into one of their couches or relaxing seats at the bar for a sip and at times, a little live music.

When it comes to the resort’s amenities, there’s many to choose from and they all help visitors enjoy a pleasant stay.

Some amenities that the resort offers are two zero-entry pools, a waterslide, a lazy river, and a 10-lane bowling alley and game room. We recommend the latter for an evening where you want to not only relax at the resort but also enjoy a little competitive fun with those staying at the resort with you or even make new friends.

The resort’s food court offers the usual fare, such as fluffy pancakes and eggs for breakfast and a variety of dinner options, and some snacks, drinks and food to go to take to your room. Or you can eat your bites of choice at the plush booths and tables with red leather seats while watching fun and cheeky vintage commercials. Oh, and don’t forget to grab a milkshake at the shop located by the food court itself. They are all divine.

As for the rooms, the resort offers 2,200 rooms, half of which are family suites. The family suites accommodate up to six people and include two queen size beds, a full-size pull-out sofa, a kitchenette for late-night snacking, a living room area, a sliding partition for privacy, two flat-screen TVs and a bathroom with preparation spaces for three people at once. And that’s a lot to offer, and it’s great for a long-term visit.

That type of room is also highly recommended for big groups, as they offer a mix of privacy and comfort during your stay.

As for the guestrooms, which I had the chance to experience, they are spacious and offer beautiful views, especially of the vibrant pool area. And, if you are looking for any more perks, those who stay at the hotel will have the chance to visit the Universal theme parks before anyone else with Early Park Admission, meaning they can get into the parks one hour before the they open.

Not only is that offered, but once there you do not need to drive to the parks or the CityWalk entertainment district featuring a great selection of stores, dining options and entertaining venues where you can dance and drink the night away.

Make sure to take the trip and give this resort a chance. You will not regret taking some time away, in a place that is as fun as it is retro and cool, a different experience when it comes to a hotel stay.
