South Florida Behavioral Health Conference Returns; Announces Honorees

Behavioral health professionals, advocates, educators, clinicians, and community leaders from across Florida will gather in Hollywood later this month for the 11th Annual South Florida Behavioral Health Conference: The Power of Prevention, taking place Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28, 2026 at The Diplomat Beach Resort.

Hosted by United Way Broward’s Coalition on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention in collaboration with the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition and the Florida Department of Children and Families, the annual two-day conference continues to serve as one of South Florida’s premier gatherings focused on behavioral health, prevention, wellness, resilience, and community collaboration.

This year’s conference will feature nationally recognized keynote speakers and subject matter experts discussing topics ranging from suicide prevention and mental health awareness to neuroscience, workforce development, trauma-informed care, and building stronger community support systems. Featured keynote speakers include Kevin Hines, a bestselling author and internationally recognized suicide prevention advocate; Ryan Jenkins, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author focused on leadership and team connection; Allan Kehler, a leading voice in addiction recovery and mental health; and Rick Griffin, founder of the Neuro Leadership Academy specializing in behavior and brain science.

The conference will also honor several influential leaders for their outstanding contributions to behavioral health and prevention efforts throughout the community. Honorees include Heather Geronemus, recipient of the Paul E. Daly Champion for Prevention Award; David Scharf, recipient of the Community Trailblazer Award; and Silvia Quintana, recipient of the Legacy of Care Award for her lasting impact on behavioral health, wellness, and community care initiatives.

Conference tracks will focus on emerging trends and innovative strategies shaping the future of behavioral health care, including youth and family mental health systems, integrated care partnerships, resilience and self-care in practice, and recovery-centered approaches. Licensed clinicians and certified professionals will also have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
