Avianca Transports 350,000 Passengers During World Cup

From June 1 through July 19, Avianca transported more than 350,000 passengers to the United States, Mexico and Canada, demonstrating the airline’s ability to respond flexibly and efficiently to major events across the Americas.

During this period, the airline served 10 of the tournament’s 16 host cities. New York, Miami, Boston, Dallas, Mexico City, Monterrey and Toronto were served by nonstop flights from Colombia, while Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston were served through Avianca’s hubs in El Salvador and Guatemala.

As the official airline of Colombia’s men’s national soccer team, Avianca supported fans through initiatives designed to extend the tournament experience throughout their journey, both in the air and on the ground. Avianca transported the national team at the beginning of its World Cup journey and on its return home. The airline also played an active role in the team’s official send-off match in Bogotá.

Airport lounges were transformed into celebratory spaces, while passengers on select flights to Mexico City and Miami received Colombia national team jerseys to wear during their journey. Avianca joined soccer fans at key gathering places across the United States, serving as an official sponsor of the Fan Zones in Miami and Orlando. These high-traffic destinations hosted brand activations and interactive experiences for fans.
