211 Broward recently brought local business and community leaders together for an evening of networking with a purpose at Cafe Vico in Fort Lauderdale.
The organization hosted its latest CLUB 211 Connecting Event, themed “Connection with Purpose,” on Aug. 26. Guests gathered for cocktails and bites while meeting fellow CLUB 211 members and learning more about the services provided through the 2-1-1 Helpline.
During the event, Shea S. Spencer, president and CEO of 211 Broward, and Tony Beall, chief development officer, discussed the organization’s work throughout Broward County and ways community members can support its mission.
CLUB 211 was created to combine professional networking with community engagement. Members attend events at venues throughout Broward County, build professional relationships and learn more about the individuals and families served by 211 Broward. Memberships begin at $211 annually, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit’s general operations.
211 Broward operates a 24-hour helpline connecting people with health and human services and providing crisis intervention assistance. Calls are answered by trained counselors who assess callers’ needs and connect them with appropriate community resources.
The organization is also a longtime National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline partner and answers 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline calls originating in Broward County.
